Twas the night before christmas

'Twas the hour before Christmas, and all through the castle,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a reindeer.
The shoes were hung by the chair with care,
In hopes that St. Bob soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their sofas,
While visions of sugar-meat patties danced in their biceps .
And girlfriend in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the table to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
shot open the shutters, and lifted up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-minute to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a coulorful cupboard, and eight tiny kiwis.
With a little old driver, so lively and pretty,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Bob.
More rapid than snakes his kiwis they came,
And he whistled, and waddled, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! Now, Jeff! Now, Candy Cane and Vixen!
On, Male ! On Kakapo! On, Sock and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the gift!
Now shave away! Shave away! Shave away all!"
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chair St. Bob came with a bound.
His eyes -- how they ran! His dimples, how bright !
His forearms were like decorations, his hamstring like a chip!
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
And filled all the shoes , then turned with a jerk.
And laying his knee aside of his thigh ,
And giving a nod, up the chair he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a kaboom,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good hour!"

christmas song

flying through the woods
In a one-cheetah open buggati,
Over the fields we go,
smileing all the way.
gifts on bob-tail ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to enjoy talking
A sleighing song tonight!
Jingle boats, jingle boats,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to running
In a one-cheetah open buggati.
yay!
Jingle boats, jingle boats,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to running
In a one-cheetah open buggati.

Hiwi the Kiwi story - Gone fishing

One beautiful sunny day, Dad and I went on a fishing trip to Diamond Harbour. We were testing out our brand new speed boat.

Once we arrived at our final destination after a number of stops, I raced out from the truck to gaze at the amazing view. Next we reversed down the boat ramp to get the big red boat into the water.

"Dad were is your life jacket ?" I asked.

"I don't need a life jacket !" Dad yelled.

"Dad life jackets can save your life, if we bump into a hard solid log or something and this boat tips over, we could drown because we don't have a life jacket on," I explained.

"Fine," moaned Dad.

As Dad went to put his life jacket on I started up the huge motor to get our journey underway.

Dad found a great spot to fish for some mouthwatering snapper. I was the first one to cast my line into the gleaming blue water, about 5 minutes later something was yanking on my line, I realed in the fish nice and carefully.

"It's a whopper ! I hope it's 27 centermetres," I said.

"why 27 centermetres?"asked Dad.

"If the fish is to big it could have babies, a fish to small you need to place it back into the water," I explained. I measured the fish.

"bugger, it's 30 centermetres!" I shouted.

"I will chuck it back into the water," Dad said.

"Wait, Dad your not supposed to chuck a fish back in the water," I yelled.

"Then what am I supposed to do?" Dad questioned.

"You have to pick the fish up with a wet towel and place it in the water, so you don't rub off the scales, if you through a fish in the water you could harm the poor little thing," I explained. Dad carefully placed the fish into the water with a wet towel.

Once we decided we had had enough, all we caught was 1 oversized snapper.

"Well I think you've learnt a lot today Dad," I said.

"Yeah, let's go get a fresh frozen fish from the butcher shop," replied Dad. Dad and I had lots of fun.

Later on in the evening...

"Wow this fish is amazing," Mum said. Dad winked at me, I winked back.

Opening sentence story

''Ahh !'' the lady screamed.  Eeeerr ! went the brakes.  Poof ! went the airbag. weooweooweooweooweoo ! sounded the ambulance.

"Sorry to interrupt  your Saturday morning movie, we have some breaking news.  There has been a deadly crash on the West Coast road just out of Christchurch.  The accident happened at the time of approximitly, half past ten in the morning.  Michele Pickles was down there earlier to give more on this deadly crash,"

"Hi there everybody, lets cut right to the chase, what suspected to cause the crash was the driver of the car that got hit and unfortunately has a broken spine.  The victim only looked right but didn't look left, then drove onto the road and got hit by a speeding car, the victim is now in a critical condition in the Christchurch hospital, the same goes to the speeding driver, although she only suffered a broken arm,"

"Thanks Michele,"

"Good game," I said as I finished my singles tennis game.

"Right lets go, grab your ice cream and we'll get out of this place,"demanded Dad.  As we drove of on our journey back home we saw a police man standing in the middle of the road.

Cultural Festival 2014

Thursday the 4th of September

Once I got off the bus I followed my teacher into the Horncastle Arena.  We walked through the doors, down the hallway and into the dress room to put on our uniform, the front row of the boys in the school haka got to wear earings, that was me ; once we were all suited up we got into our lines and then entered the quiet zone (backstage)  Waiting for our turn to perform.

After the first school had finished I was so excited.  My line walked up the ramp getting closer and closer and closer to the bright, hot stage.  I walked onto the stage and stared at the screaming crowd.  The next words I heard were Kahea te ata as Matthew M started us off.  We next sang Tenei Matou.  I knew all the words and all the actions.  Next it was the boys time to shine performing the Christchurch super haka, Tahu Potiki, Harley was our leader.  After that we sang the girls poi song called standing in the hall of fame, they were really good.

Finally my favourite part of our performance was the school haka, Standing in the shadow of TU, I am really good at it.  Once we finished the school walked off stage and headed towards the dress room to get changed.  It took along time for us to get back to our seats.  My favourite performance to watch was the Irish dancing, they were outstanding.  After all the schools had finished everybody stood up and sang He honore.

I had a wonderful night, I was very tired.

Lightning McQueen

In a little town called Radiator springs lives Lightning McQueen  and his best friend Tow Mater.  They love to hang out together, and cause lots of trouble. Their favourite thing to do is tractor tiping.  Using  their noisy horns or engines to tip tractors over.

Lightning McQueen is a bright, red rookie, his shiny, blinding stickers are really precious to him.  He loves his Black Lightyear tyres,  they extremely stand out when he races.

Lightning McQueen  races in the Piston Cup. He is really concentrated before his race, he always has a bright smile on his face.  He likes to show off to Sally and he likes to impress her.  He badly wants to win the Piston cup.

McQueen has a very handy truck driver Mac, he sleeps in his flash Rust-eze oil car trailer.   Lightning McQueen  is my favourite race car.
